Finding The Right Balance of AI vs Human Content Writing
Should We Be Using Artificial Intelligence?
Let’s face it. AI is evolving each and every day regardless of what industry you work in. The capabilities of it are endless and it seems like we are finding more and more ways for it to make our daily lives easier and more efficient.
The truth is that if you’re not familiar with AI or you’re not sure how to use it, that’s okay, but it’s better to learn it sooner rather than later. It’s become very clear that this is not just a fly by night technology. This is here to stay so use it to your advantage.
Is Artificial Intelligence Right for my Business?
As AI becomes more and more prominent for every business, we often get asked how we use it and how it works.
First off, yes. Let’s be honest and transparent here. We use AI in the marketing industry and we use it to do many things like brainstorming new ideas, analyzing reports, integrating software, task automation, and so much more. However, the thing we use it most for is content writing. Yes, I know what your thinking, “but isn’t that cheating?”
Not necessarily. Let me be 100% clear on something. You as a human with a brain should still be doing most of the work. But we can use AI to help generate some ideas, create new topics, or provide some guidance or feedback for what we’ve already written.
Let me ask you this. Is cheating for construction companies to use power tools? Not at all. The tool itself just allows the user to cut wood faster, or drill the screw quicker. The human brain still has to know where to cut that wood and where to drill that screw. The tool itself just helps them do their job more efficiently. And AI content writing is the same for you and I. It’s a tool and we can use it to our advantage.
We Like To Call It “AI Assisted Content Writing”
I think we can all agree that the human brain is still the most valuable tool in terms of creativity and writing. The brain has a special way of putting words together in a compelling story and AI is still many years away from that. However, the only limiting factor of the brain is the time required to output very good high quality content.
So this is where AI comes into play. We use the tool to increase the speed of creation while still leveraging the human brain to retain that high quality of it.
The Perfect Balance of Artificial Intelligence
To put it simple. I like to stick to a 80/20 rule of thumb. I am okay with about 20% of my writing containing some AI assistance. However, I still like to create about 80% of it from the good ole noggin.
The goal is to find that balance between human and machine to get you to your end goal. AI can be great at helping you come up with ideas and getting the rough draft started. However, that’s all it’s really good for. Good high quality content writing still requires the time of a human brain to create and add the special touch. Once you find that perfect balance, the results can be amazing.
